DisabiliTease Academy Logo

We teamed up with the DisabiliTease Academy, which launched during the DisabiliTease Festival weekend, to bring accessible classes to performers and producers in the burlesque, drag, cirque and performing arts communities.

The DisabiliTease Academy is an online dance, burlesque, aerial, and movement arts school focused on performers and producers with disabilities and their allies. As the only school of its kind, our mission is to provide an accessible experience for both instructors and students who may otherwise encounter barriers in traditional schools.

DTA offers a range of class topics and offer multiple learning opportunities to meet your needs, such as live Zoom sessions, pre-recorded classes and downloadable resource guides.

The 2021 classes are available to rent for $15 or purchase for $20 USD.

VIVA BURLESQUE, aims to explore through the lens of erotic dance, art, and politics, the bare-naked truth about Burlesque, our common humanity and our essential sexual nature ā€¦ in all its exotic diversity. We strive to shine a light on burlesque that challenges stereotypes dictated by society and reveal the empowering, healing and enriching qualities of burlesque. Midnight Room Rentals is an adaptable studio space for rent by the hour in Northeast Minneapolis which is independently owned and operated by DisabiliTease Festival co-producer VaVa Vashti.

Midnight strives to be a multi-use, accessible, and equitable space for folks in (or visiting) the Twin Cities. It is a great place to consider for your next recording, rehearsal (including aerial, pole, and chair), meetings, or photoshoot session.

We are so thankful to Midnight for their sponsorship, which allowed several of our local performers to film their routines – and is hosting our local cast’s watch parties!
