Watch Party FAQ
A watch party is an approved in-person event for folks to gather and enjoy the DisabiliTease Festival shows together. These parties are hosted by an individual or organization in partnership with the DisabiliTease Festival after being selected through an application process.
We understand that folks may gather in homes to watch the show(s) together. While these will not be considered official watch parties, we encourage each individual to still purchase their own ticket for the virtual show and tip performers. The DisabiliTease Festival cast is made up of performers with disabilities. Your support and funds go directly to each artist and their endeavors.
The details of a Watch Party will vary from host to host, but will minimally include a hosted viewing of the DisabiliTease Festival show(s) as advertised in their events.
COVID-19 has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization and is extremely contagious. The DisabiliTease Festival (DTF) cannot guarantee that attendees will not become infected with COVID-19 when attending a Watch Party. Watch Party Hosts are to ensure they follow their local government/ health department regulations and make these gatherings as safe as possible. DTF also requires all hosts to follow a COVID policy and Code of Conduct as a condition of hosting, ensuring a base level of a safe, welcoming environment for as many people as possible.
Ultimately, it is up to the individual whether they feel comfortable attending an in-person watch party. DTF recommends attendees check their local government and health department regulations as well as local case numbers in making the decision to attend in-person or participate virtually.
Apply at https://tinyurl.com/DTF2022WatchParties. Applications are due July 1. We will be reviewing and accepting Watch Party applications on a rolling basis.
Only those events listed on our website or are connected to our Facebook page are official parties. Any other event should not be considered connected to the DisabiliTease Festival nor can we guarantee that the DisabiliTease Festival will get a portion of the proceeds. All authorized online ticket sales will be made through the DisabiliTease Festival website.
